Seawater Cooling System

ADVANTEC has built a Temporary Seawater Cooling System for Aker Kværner Stord, at Statoil Hammerfest LNG Plant Hook-up facilities.

The system is based around a 20" ISO Container, fitted with by-pass strainer and control system for the main-pumps.

2 X 500 m3/h Seawater capacity
10 Bar max operating pressure
Operating Voltage 3Ph / 400 VAC
Pressure hoses 8" with 150#ANSI flanges (12pieces)
Return hoses 10" with 150#ANSI flanges (13pieces)
Strainer Mesh size 1500 micron
Pump type ITT Flygt, 123 TV 5 SN
Electro motor Mercury PCM 2202D (220kW)

20" ISO Container

Main switch board for the motors, fitted with contactor and motor- protect switch. One of the safety features on the system is the PT-100 temperature sensor, for constantly monitoring the
motor temperature.

The pump system is also fitted with a strainer mesh at 1500 micron. Features on the strainer are pressure gauges, to easily detect if they are getting bung up.
Maintenance of the strainer is no problem under continually duty, regarding to the By-Pass design.

Strainer

Delivered with the pump system, there is available 250 meters of 8" hose, and 250 meters of 10" hose. Each length is approximately 20 meters. ANSI 150#
flanges.

40" ISO Container for transport of hoses

The manifold connects the two pumps to the strainer.
Pressure safety is achieved from a 9 bar rapture disk, and return line back to pit.
The manifold is also fitted with 2" line with adjustable valve for tuning of the system.

Manifold assembly

To monitor the flow on the system, there is fitted a flow-meter in between the manifold and the strainer.
