In a checklist for basic requirements for modern instrumentation you will find the ability to present measurement data in a user-friendly form, digitally or analogous, and as real time as possible. This second requirement certainly goes for dynamic processes. A third basic requirement would be to offer the necessary accuracy. A fourth, or as an alternative to the first requirement, measurement data must be possible to integrate into processes and into higher levels in a system hierarchy.
To meet these basic requirements it is necessary to deploy state-of-the art measurement technology, such as the SeCaP™ technology. However, accurate and fast “raw” measurement data is less and less sufficient. Modern instrumentation at its best also “models” measurement data to make the operator maximally informed. This modelling is software driven. Through the modelling of measurement data the operator can be offered additional valuable information such as statistics, trends, threshold warnings, event correlation to name a few. The SeCaP™ technology comes with such software driven modelling of measurement data.
To put it simple, Sentech customers can use the SeCaP™ technology in two modes:
- Measurement System mode, consisting of a sensor / probe device to which is added a Monitoring System that a.o. does the measurement data modelling which is software driven
- Meter mode, consisting of a sensor / probe device with additional interfaces, protection devices etc. but without measurement data modelling, i.e. without software.
Technical description
SeCaP™ PM Application Software is a bundled software package that offers functionality for users of Sentech’s SeCaP™ Profile Measurement system. Functions include:
- User friendly Windows-based interface for users, operators, sysadmins and others
- Feature rich configuring of set-up, to reflect field specifics and well specifics
- Recording of time series of measurement data
- Configurable analysis and presentation of measurement data
- Tabular and graphical presentation
- Replay of recorded data, for drill-down analysis
- Extensive on-line manual
- Open libraries for localization (language, field specifics, well specifics, etc.)
There are no external system requirements for the SeCaP™ PM Application Software since it is executed on a Computer System supplied as a part of the Monitoring System.
SeCaP™ WCM Application Software is a bundled software package that offers functionality for users of Sentech’s SeCaP™ Water Cut Measurement System. Functions include:
- Friendly Windows-based interface for users, operators, sysadmins and others
- Feature rich configuring of set-up, to reflect field specifics and well specifics
- Recording of time series of measurement data
